Marie Curie has already become a kind of a common name. This woman was fantastically intelligent and self-sacrificing. You might know that she was the first female to win the Nobel Prize in Physics, but you will be surprised to find out that she managed to do it twice (her second achievement was research in Chemistry!).

The fregile woman bravely went deep into the research of radioactivity, being fearless and obsessed with the idea of a brand new science. Marie was of Polish origin and was highly proud of her mother country. Her children knew the Polish language perfectly. No wonder that the first radioactive element discovered by the Curie couple was named "polonium" which sounds almost the same as her beloved native country - Poland.
