Do they mean with the naked eye from the ISS? Otherwise, satelites can pretty much see even a single person.

If one considers the GBR as one organism, then one could consider the Amazon rain forest one as well, and surely that can be seen from space.

The GB Reef is something to behold. I'm not a diver, I did the snorkling thing, I went swimming with the fishes, so colourful, so diverse. We stayed on Hamilton Island and that was an experience in itself, staff so lovely and so many things to see and adventures to try.
