Going clockwise round the picture the map outlines are as follows:

The Republic of Croatia is a country in Southeast Europe on the Adriatic Sea. Its capital and largest city, Zagreb, forms one of the country's primary subdivisions, with twenty counties. Croatia has an area of 56,594 square kilometres (21,851 square miles) and a population of 4.07 million.

The map of Croatia has a distinctive “catapult” outline. You can see that the map outline of Bosnia and Herzegovina (top right) fits into the catapult shape in the southeast of Croatia; also the map outline of Serbia (bottom left) fits on to the east of the map outline of Croatia.

Croatia also borders Slovenia to the northwest, Hungary to the northeast, Montenegro to the southeast and has a maritime border with Italy to the west and southwest. Albania does not border Croatia but lies further south along the Adriatic coast.
