The short-lived BBC soap 'Eldorado' was set in which country?

'Eldorado' was a British soap opera set in the fictional town of Los Barcos on the Costa Eldorado in Spain. It followed the lives of British and European expatriates, in a similar vein to the US shows 'Dallas' and 'Dynasty'. It was created by Tony Holland and aired for just over a year, from 6th July 1992 to 9th July 1993.

Many of the cast were inexperienced actors, and their limitations were clearly exposed on screen. There were also issues with acoustics during filming, which added to the many criticisms the series received.

Despite attempts to improve the show, the BBC cancelled 'Eldorado' after 156 episodes. It is often remembered as an embarrassing failure for the BBC, and is sometimes used as a byword for any unsuccessful television programme.
