In the UK currency one pound (£) is divided into 100 pence (p). The eight coins in everyday use are in the following denominations 1p, 2p, 5p 10p, 20p, 50p, £1, £2. (Other coins are minted for special occasions.) The 20p and 50p coins have a special seven-sided shape – technically an equilateral curve heptagon. The other coins are circular in shape.
