There are eight different coins used in the UK today: how many of them are heptagonal?
In the UK currency one pound (£) is divided into 100 pence (p). The eight coins in everyday use are in the following denominations 1p, 2p, 5p 10p, 20p, 50p, £1, £2. (Other coins are minted for special occasions.) The 20p and 50p coins have a special seven-sided shape – technically an equilateral curve heptagon. The other coins are circular in shape. The New One Pound coin introduced a few years ago, is not a heptagon, it's 12 sided so it's a dodecagon. Answer is correct, only 2 UK coins are 7 sided.

Marie Robson, how many sides are on the newer £1 coin? I have a feeling it's more than 7 therefore it isn't heptagonal. The question, in that case, IS correct.

Marie Robson, the pound coin is dodecagonal rather than heptagonal, so the answer is correct: only the 20p and 50p coins have seven sides. Even when special £5 coins are minted, they are never heptagons.
