Under which name is Leonard Franklin Slye famous?

Roy was one of my heros growing up. I first met him when he visit Presbyterian Children's Hospital in NYC in 1957. I had the pleasure of meeting against under the bleacher at the old Madison Square Garden (NYC) during the NYC Rodeo as he was there as the guest star with Trigger, Jr (his horse), Dale Evan (Olivia nee Smith Rogers and her horse, Buttermilk), Pat Brady (former bass player with the Sons of the Pioneers) and his Jeep, "Nelliebell". Last time I saw Roy and Dale was at their home in Apple Valley and met their eight children. Their oldest Dusty and I are the same age. Since 1957, we exchanged birthday cards, Christmas card and a lot more letters from me and a few from him. He was my living hero until his death as I embrace many of the good qualities of character that he embodied and portrayed in his roles as a "good guy".

I still have an autographed photo of Roy&Dale from 1969 when I met them at the Indiana state fair.

Only got to meet him once on the levee in Baton Rouge when he was on a boat trip down the Mississippi River. Very cordial to everyone there.

Pierre Poirier, Gabby Hayes was another of Roy's sidekick and funny guy. He played with a lot of the old cowboy stars.

Pierre Poirier, how could you never have heard of Gabby Hayes? He was in most of Roy Rogers' movies, as well as many other Westerns of his day.

Donna R. O'Brien Moran, The actress in the photo with Roy Rogers is not Dale Evans, it is Lynne Roberts taken from the movie "Billy the Kid Returns filmed in 1938.
