Ward Bond (born Wardell Edwin Bond) was one of the most prominent American actors of the early 20th century. He was born in 1903 and appeared in more than 200 movies. Many people still remember Bond for his roles in It's a Wonderful Life (1946) and The Searchers (1956).

This actor has probably the most enviable filmography of any actor, past or present. Bond acted in seven of the 100 Greatest American Films according to the AFI, which is an absolute record. He starred in 23 movies together with John Wayne, another prolific American actor. They were life long friends. Bond's career had a serious impact on the history of the American film industry, and the characters he created are still considered iconic.
