It has established that blue whales are the strongest, in terms of the absolute amount of force they can generate. They are stronger than other large whales, including the massive sperm whale, the largest toothed cetacean, although they are not the strongest relative to their body size.

The blue whale (Balaenoptera musculus) is a marine mammal belonging to the baleen whales (Mysticeti). At 30 metres (98 ft) in length and up to 173 tonnes (191 short tons) in weight, it is the largest extant animal and is the heaviest known to have existed.

I cannot understand the quibbling over this question. The question asks for the animal with the most brute strength on Earth. "Earth", when capitalized, means the planet. When earth is not capitalized, it means soil or land. Many conflate a LAND animal with animals on Earth. The seas are on Earth as well as all the animals in the sea. In fact, EVERY animal we know of is on Earth! Others conflate "relative" strength, strength relative to size, with overall brute strength. Although an ant may be a titan for its size, it could not outmuscle a whale in a tug-of-war contest. The whale possesses more "brute strength". Try not to read more into questions than is written. When one adds parameters not written into the question, one is invariably wrong.

I gave the answer "Silverback Gorilla" as did the majority. I stand by my answer. This question was poorly worded. When I read it, I wondered if they meant "for it's size which animal has the most brute strength?" Either moderators were asleep or the question was an attempt at trickery, I don't know.
