What dog breed is this?

The Miniature Pinscher (Zwergpinscher, Min Pin) is a small dog breed, which comes from Germany. Italian greyhound and the German Pinscher are considered its ancestors, but there is no exact information.

This breed is thought to be quite old, but factual documentation began less than 200 years ago, leaving their actual origins to debate, as well as its heritage. Anyway, the Miniature Pinscher is one of the most popular modern dog breeds. They always become good companions for their owners, who, undoubtedly, enjoy their dogs' s stately appearance.

Always wanted one! Had a standard Pinscher that lived to 19. Had some seizure problems during the last few years but was otherwise healthy. Her kidneys failed eventually. My Brandy

I own a mini pinscher. Or should I say she owns me. The a very active. She is nine acts like she is two. Very smart and hard to train. They need a strong pack leader. They will protect the home and faimly to the end. They WILL BIT .

Knew a couple Doberman Pinchers. Great, protective, friends. Not necessarily the junkyard dogs portrayed on tv. But any animal (including human) can be aggressive if taught to be.

19, wow! That's 133 in dog years - a canine Methuselah! When I was a kid we had a golden retriever that nearly made it to 17 and I thought that was impressive enough. Sounds like Brandy had a good long life. :-)

@LEE STORMBRINGER...That's not true. Minature Pinscher's don't only come in "Red"! They come in different colours, besides "Red". Color And Coat: The Miniature Pinscher comes in many colors. Here are the American Kennel Club accepted colors: Solid Clear Red: this is the most common color, varying from a dark rusty red to a color that is almost tan. Color should be rich and vibrant. A medium to dark shade is preferred. Stag Red: Red with intermingling of black hairs. Color should be rich and vibrant. A medium to dark shade is preferred. Black and Tan: Black with sharply defined rust-red markings on cheeks, lips, lower jaw, throat, twin spots above eyes and chest, lower half of forelegs, inside of hind legs and vent region, lower portion of hocks and feet. Black pencil stripes on toes. Chocolate and Tan: Chocolate with rust-red markings the same as specified for blacks, except brown pencil stripes on toes

We had a dachshund/fox terrier cross that we passed off as a Doberman Pinscher. Angie was named after the Rolling Stones ballad, a song I still can't listen to, makes the tears well up. Thanks for the doggie question.

Noelle Waugh, The ears on a Min Pin are not mutilated. They stand with the tips flopping naturally. You are confusing them with the Doberman Pinscher.
