Saint Barbara is known in the Eastern Orthodox Church as the Great Martyr Barbara. She was an early Christian saint and martyr. There is no reference to her in the authentic early Christian writings nor in the original recension of St. Jerome's martyrology. St. Barbara Feast Day is celebrated on the 4th of December. The name of the saint can be traced back to the 7th century. Veneration of her was common from the 9th century.

She was often portrayed with miniature chains and a tower.

Have you ever heard of such a saint? She is known as the patron saint of warriors, military engineers and others who work with explosives.
