Bill Gates entered Harvard in the fall of 1973, only to drop out two years later to found Microsoft with childhood friend Paul Allen.

Finally, on June 7, 2007, Bill Gates stood to accept an honorary Doctor of Laws degree during the 356th Commencement Exercises at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. As he told his father and others, he waited a long time but, he made it back to Harvard to get a degree.
