Saint Lucia is an island country in the West Indies in the eastern Caribbean Sea on the boundary with the Atlantic Ocean. It is located north/northeast of the island of Saint Vincent, northwest of Barbados and south of Martinique. It covers a land area of 617 square kilometers (238 square miles) and has a population of 183 629, as of the 2020 census. Its capital is Castries.

The blue symbolizes the sky and the sea: specifically the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea which encircle the country.
