What did the Lone Ranger's friend Tonto's name mean in Spanish?

Info is incorrect. I have a taped recording of the original radio program and Tonto says himself that his name means Faithful Friend. It doesn’t get any more plain than that. The guy should know what his own name means. Also, Tonto did not speak Spanish but the Loan Ranger did.

As a little kid this was one of my favorite shows back in South America. The name was not Tonto actually was TORO. This question is definitely formulated wrong.
