What does NSAIDs stand for?
NSAIDs stand for non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Besides being used as anti-inflammatory medicine, they provide pain-killing and fever-reducing effects in smaller doses. The most prominent drugs of this group are available over the counter almost in every country of the world. Perhaps, you also often take such drugs as aspirin, ibuprofen and naproxen at home. At least, they are ingredients found in a wide range of modern medications. The term nonsteroidal was coined to distinguish these drugs from steroids.
