What does the longitudinal fissure divide?

Medial longitudinal fissure or Longitudinal fissure divides the cerebrum into the two hemispheres.

The vertebrate cerebrum (brain) is formed by two cerebral hemispheres that are separated by a groove, the medial longitudinal fissure. The brain can thus be described as being divided into left and right cerebral hemispheres.

I find if I am loosing concentration in a seminar or a meeting I take my right hand and cross over to my left ear to yank it which breaks the concetration loss and bring me back into focus.
