What is hypodontia?
Hypodontia is the congenital absence of teeth (from 1 to 6 teeth, both primary and secondary). It's one of the commonest anomalies dentists encounter in their practice. According to the statistics, hypodontia affects from 3% to 9% of the population. The most common missing teeth are mandibular second premolars, third molars and maxillary laterals. Aetiological basis of inherited tooth loss is little-studied, although much progress has been made in understanding the process of human tooth formation.

Here's what I found: Hypodontia refers to dentitions with fewer teeth than normal due to agenesis of the dental germ or failure of the dental germ to fully develop. Anodontia refers to a congenital absence of all teeth and oligodontia to the absence of most of the teeth.

Easy peasy for me to get right since I learned that I have hypodontia after my first dental exam when I was 17. I only have 28 teeth and no third molars AKA wisdom teeth had even started to form.

No - Wrong answer! Research shows up to % TEETH - Qestion says up to 6. I knew before I answered it that the answer would be something different to the research. Too many questions here get past inspection with wrong answers. --- In dentistry, hypodontia is the condition at which the patient has missing teeth as a result of the failure of those teeth to develop (also called tooth agenesis). Hypodontia describes a situation where the patient is missing up to five permanent teeth, excluding the 3rd molars.
