What is measured by an udometer?
The udometer (also called rain gauge) is a gauge consisting of an instrument to measure a quantity of rainfall in inches or centimeters. It is used by meteorologists and hydrologists to gather and measure a specific amount of rainfall for a set period of time. Ancient Greeks were the first people to measure rainfall. The first prototypes of rain gauge appeared in the 15th century.
