FYI: TABASCO SAUCE ORIGINATED ON AVERY ISLAND, LOUISIANA IN 1868 BY THE MCIILHENNY COMPANY WHICH IS A FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED TO THIS DAY!!! SO IT IS AN ORIGINAL LOUISIANA PRODUCT.

Tricky when the main ingredients are Red Peppers and Vineger. How could really 1 be incorrect? Red Pepper Sauce from Louisianna is Cajan Sauce isn't it? Most people know its Red Peppers, or would guess that, but the vineger? Unless you've tried it, you might not know.

Have been to Avery Island (Louisiana) twice to tour the Tobasco factory. Avery Island is at swamp level and sits on a salt dome said to be as deep as Mount Everest is high. It is the home of the first rock salt mine in America and was operated for two centuries. It closed in 2022 following a collapse of a salt dome that killed two workers.

My step dad would cover his steak at dinner with Tabasco. My mom would put Tabasco sauce on my thumbs and my sibling so we' d never suck our thumbs as toddlers.
