What is the deadliest cyclone in the Philippines that killed at least 6300 people in Eastern Visayas in 2013?
Typhoon Haiyan, known in the Philippines as Super Typhoon Yolanda, was one of the most powerful tropical cyclones ever recorded. On making landfall, Haiyan devastated portions of Southeast Asia, particularly the Philippines. It is one of the deadliest Philippine typhoons on record, killing at least 6,300 people in that country alone. In terms of JTWC-estimated 1-minute sustained winds, Haiyan was tied with Meranti in 2016 for being the second strongest landfalling tropical cyclone on record only behind Goni of 2020. In January 2014, bodies were still being found. Haiyan was also the most intense tropical cyclone worldwide in 2013.

In the Philippines these storms are always named Typhoons, not cyclones. It is Typhoon Yolanda, not Cyclone Yolanda. The question should use that term.

Having been stationed in the area for two years, the correct term in the question is typhoon, not cyclone.

This is easily the strongest typhoon in Philippine history. I live around 800 kilometers from its center but we still felt it heavily when it landed. Our gate and roof was almost dismantled.
