What is the height of Mount Everest?

Mount Everest is the highest mountain on Earth. It is located in Nepal and Tibet and Its peak is 8,848 metres (29,029 ft) above sea level. The international border between China and Nepal runs across Everest's precise summit point.

The official height is 8,848 m (29,029 ft) as recognized by China and Nepal was established by a 1955 Indian survey and subsequently confirmed by a Chinese survey in 1975. In 1865, Everest was given its official English name by the Royal Geographical Society upon a recommendation by Andrew Waugh, the British Surveyor General of India. As there appeared to be several different local names, Waugh chose to name the mountain after his predecessor in the post, Sir George Everest.

Anyone else have to convert metres to feet? I knew it was just over 29000ft

Wayne Roberts, I already know that a meter is 3 feet, 3.37 inches. I had to do the math to convert the choices to feet till I got one that was 29000 or so feet, which I knew was the height.

If measuring from a mountain's base to its top then Mt Kea in Hawaii is by far the tallest at 10, 210 M / 33, 497 Ft. A lot of this height is below sea level.
