First Lady Michelle Obama grew up in the Chicago's South Side neighborhood. Born 17 January 1964, she was the daughter of a full-time water plant technician, Fraser Robinson III, and his wife, Marian Robinson. Michelle's mother was a full-time housewife for part of Michelle's younger life.

Michelle attended public schools in Chicago and graduated from both Princeton University and Harvard Law School.

She married Barack Obama in 1992 and their daughters are Sasha and Malia. While First Lady, her causes were nutrition, physical activity, healthy eating, poverty awareness, and education. After the second term of Barack's presidency, Michelle wrote her autobiography.
