German business man, spy & member of the Nazi Party. Oskar Schindler became an unlikely hero when he saved 1,200 of Jews during the Holocaust by employing them in the enamelware & ammunition factories which were located in occupied in Poland & the Protectorate of Bohemia. At first Schindler was only in the money making potential of the business. Later he began shielding his workers without regard for the cost. He had to give Nazi officials large bribes & gifts to keep his workers safe.

By the people whose lives he had saved during the war, he was named Righteous Among the Nations by the Israeli govt. in 1963. After his death in 1974 he was buried in Jerusalem on Mount Zion.
