Necco is the oldest candy company in the United States. Its name stands for The New England Confectionery Company. The company appeared in 1901 after the merger of several confectionery companies. Its core product, Necco Wafers, were invented by Oliver Chase before the merger, in 1847.

As well as famous M&M's candies, Oliver's wafers were first popular among soldiers. The government even ordered Necco to produce candies specially for the soldiers of World War II. By autumn 2010 Necco has produced one trillion Necco Wafer candies. These colorful and tasty candies of different flavors have inspired a lot of candy companies to create new kinds of sweets.
