Elephants can't sweat like humans do, so they have to regulate their body temperature in a weird way. How do they do that?

These creatures are huge and produce a lot of body heat. Moreover, they usually live in very hot climate so they are just forced to get rid of the extra heat. Elephants come with a built-in solution: huge, floppy ears!

On the inside of their ears, you can find a web of tiny blood vessels which are very close to the surface. When the temperature of the elephant's blood is greater than the temperature of its surroundings, heat is released from their ears.
