What is the third largest political party in the USA?

The Libertarian Party is America's third largest political party. It is also third fastest growing political party. Libertarians work on a lot of projects, striving for everyone's liberty on every point.

The Libertarian Party was created in December of 1971. Leaders of the party realized that the politicians had deviated from America's initial libertarian strategy, with critical results. Their strategy was the same as that of America's founders. They fought for a world of individuals where everyone is free to choose his/her own way and follow the dreams, a world of harmony, peace, opportunity and wealth.

Libertarians know they can't make the world perfect. But at least, they can try and make it better than it's now. They are practical and realistic. Libertarians keep working to create a better, freer society for everyone. William Allen White once said that you will never get your liberty as long as you won't be ready to give it to others.

Why are they fools? Because they want liberty? They just want to mind their own business and for everyone else to mind their own. They also believe that government is there to serve people not to regulate them, in fact people should regulate the government. They believe in such common sense things as term limits and the right to bear arms.

This copy sounds like it was written more as a sales pitch for the Libertarian party than by an unbiased, objective party. It all sounds so rosy; almost cult-like. I can't imagine why they are not the largest party in the country after 45 years of glowing philosophy. Hmmm.

I prefer to vote for the person. Not the party. I want someone whose views most agree with mine. There are many fine people who have entered US politics but they are pressured into following in step with the party's or the opinions of the other interests pushing their agenda. So I am a libertarian. And I will vote for whom I wish.

I knew this one was going to cause a stir. I often say as long as we continue to vote for the same two political parties, nothing will change. The only thing either of them care about is getting re-elected which requires special interest money. But not sure if the Libertarian Party is the answer but if they outlaw "political bribery" aka "campaign donations" I might consider them. While I'm on my "High Horse" why is it called public service? They all get paid rather well and most make a career of it?

The Libertarian Party has never presented a person of any note or consequence. They are powerless and irrelevant. They don't understand government has an important role to play in society as a moral authority and a civil arbiter. Libertarianism is social Darwinism in the body politic.

Libertarians seem to come in somewhat different versions. I have noticed some who quote Adam Smith conveniently leave leave what Smith said regarding the government's responsibility to insure justice and competition.
