What production model was the Tiger I tank of World War II?
The Tiger I tank was designated the Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger Ausf E, after the success of the Panzer V "Panther" led German engineers to create one of the most revolutionary armored vehicles of its time. The Russian T-34 and the American M1 Sherman tanks were no match against these hulking beasts when alone, and were forced to gang up on these fearsome tanks in groups.

The Sherman tank was the M4 - not M1. Not that it matters - I picked the wrong Panzer. I thought that the Panther was a III and the Tiger a IV

Germans, while extremely brilliant in their manufacture of armaments, were not very adept at warfare. This lack of how to fight a battle/war was the result of allowing a mad man pull the wool over their eyes and ended in complete annihilation of the so-called thousand years war!
