What size is the golf hole?
The thing is that no one knows why the width of the hole must be exactly of this size. But every golfer will assure you that the size actually never matters – it's always too small. The standard of 4 ¼ inches appeared only in 1829 (with the invention of hole-cutters) and even now this accepted norm goes on existing. Before that, all the holes were made of an approximate diameter.
