The film stars Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Mia Wasikowska, Matt Lucas, Rhys Ifans, Helena Bonham Carter, and Sacha Baron Cohen and features the voices of Stephen Fry, Michael Sheen, Timothy Spall, Barbara Windsor, Matt Vogel, Paul Whitehouse, and Alan Rickman. This also features Rickman and Windsor in their final film roles prior to their deaths.
Alan Sidney Patrick Rickman (21 February 1946 – 14 January 2016) was an English actor and director. Known for his deep, languid voice, he trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and became a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), performing in modern and classical theatre productions.

One of those questions that could be read a couple of different ways...his last acting role was in Eye in the Sky 2015, and had a voice only role in Alice Through the Looking Glass in 2016.

So hard to imagine that "Die Hard" was his first step into film. He left an absolutely wonderful mark on pop culture, whether you saw him as Snape, Gruber, a thespian or indeed, Absolom.
We may see him "in another life." For true actors don't "die", but "transform."

I never want to see "Die Hard" again, but I still enjoy "Prince Of Thieves", "Galaxy Quest", The "Harry Potter" series, "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy", Love Actually", and "Eye In The Sky". Will I miss him? In Snape's words, 'Always'.

Although such a villain in “Die Hard” he had some funny lines such as when he was making a list of demands in exchange for release of hostages. He reeled off a list of political prisoners he wanted released. His partner in crime looked at him in astonshment and asked him where he got those names from and he replied “Newsweek”. Very droll, and wonderfully acted! He was a superior actor, and i was very sad when I learned of his death.

He was an excellent actor. I loved him in Quigley Down Under and Robin Hood:Prince of Theives. I said he looked so different without a mustache when I was watching Harry Potter with my daughter and she had no idea what I was talking about. So we watched Robin Hood and she was shocked! Couldn't believe he had a mustache or played such a bad guy! Lol

I admired his brilliant role in die hard and prince of thieves. He died of cancer. Well everybody has to go one way or the other. We are just passing through in this life. So whatever good you can do now, do it. For we may never pass this way again.

Some people say Arnold Schwarzenegger is the John Wayne of modern Hollywood, or that George Clooney is today's Cary Grant. Following that logic, I would say that Alan was the modern Vincent Price: best known for sinister characters, but clearly capable of playing so many more!

Absolutely nice guy and brilliant artist! And, what a beautiful speaking voice! Everyone in my family loved his work! He left such a hole in the acting world, when he left this plane of existence--he is sorely missed!
