What was Mickey Mouse’s name before it was changed to Mickey?
It's hard to believe that "Mortimer" had been the original name for the iconic character. However, Walt Disney was convinced to change it by his wife, Lillian. She was sure that the name "Mortimer" wasn't very catchy and ultimately Mickey Mouse came to be.
What are your thoughts on this subject?

Lillian was right. Everybody loves a Mickey. Later on, a very nasty rat called Mortimer appeared as a rival for Minnie's affections.
