What was the original name of America Online?

The company was founded in 1985 and changed its name to America Online only in 1991. Since 1991 the company becomes synonymous with "online service" and grows to become one of the world's largest Internet Service Providers. One of the highlights of the dot com boom/bust cycle was their ill-fated merger with Time Warner to create AOL Time Warner.

Eventually in April 2006, America Online officially adopted its AOL abbreviation exclusively, and dropped "America Online".

The correct answer is not listed. It started as Control Video Corporation in 1983, later called Quantum Computer Service in 1983. Typical bad fact checking.

Quantum Computer Service...how prophetic! It wasn't until 2001 that the first quantum computation had even been performed (in which they factored the number 15 using Schor's algorithm) and it took until 2016 for IBM to release to the general public access to their 5 qubit quantum processor.
