What world event is said to have helped end the Great Depression?

The Great Depression was the worst economic crisis in U.S. history. On the surface and widely held by experts, World War II marked the end of the Great Depression within the United States. The amount of spending by the U.S. government and others during wartime was a key factor in helping to end the Great Depression. It was a major cause in reducing U.S. unemployment. More people had jobs and paychecks.

Also, FDR's New Deal helped America recover from the Great Depression. The New Deal had three main goals, which was to recover, reform and relief.

Industrialization was actally the cause. It continued long after the war was over. Europe was in shambles after the war. The US even contributed to the retooling and updating of the manufacturing capabilities of postwar Japan and Germany which later became two of the top industrialized nations of the world after the war.

billyboy915, the ending was much more complicated than simply industrialization, government, financial, tax, many other complex issues contributed to that ending.

WWII caused almost as much of a crushing financial burden as the Great Depression. Economists and scholars debate this issue, most agree WWII was not what ended the Depression. (That war hiked national USA debt about 5-fold.) The ending of the Depression was by a number of complex issues, government, financial, taxes and more.

All wars are banker's wars, including both world wars, along with and several hundred others. Including the defunct Cold War (which bankers are desperately trying to revive) and the War on Terror that replaced it.
