When was the first mobile phone produced?

Motorola was the first company to produce a handheld mobile phone. On 3 April 1973, Martin Cooper, a Motorola researcher and executive, made the first mobile telephone call from handheld subscriber equipment, placing a call to Dr. Joel S. Engel of Bell Labs.

This way, cell phones have been around for a little more than 40 years. Such a device as a mobile phone may be considered one of the most rapidly developing concepts of the high-tech industry.

According to historians, the first mobile phone was invented and introduced by Ericsson in 1956 in Sweden. The question didn't ask when the first cell phone call was made it asked when the first mobile phone was produced. There were mobile radio phones in cars in the 60s and you could make phone calls on them

There were mobile phone in a car (Perry White’s to be specific) in the Superman tv series in the 50’s. They were in B&H.

In 1850 Alexander Graham Bell experimented with a photophone, which used a light ray to connect with a fixed station. I think he probably thought of it as a mobile phone.
