When was World Animal Day held for the first time?
It happened on the 4th of October
Can you imagine that at the moment this annual event is being held in 70 countries! For sure, one should understand the appeal of the celebrations: they are held to make people take care of helpless creatures who need help and love. The international day of animal rights started more than 80 years ago. Originally, the founders of the event wanted to highlight the problem of the endangered species but today ecologists call attention to rights of any living animal.

Wrong information. According to the World Animal website, this is what I found:The idea of World Animal Day was originated by Heinrich Zimmermann, the German writer and publisher of the
magazine Mensch und Hund/Man and Dog. He organized the first World Animal Day on 24 March 1925 in Berlin and
moved it to 4 October for the first time in 1929.

It was first held in 1925 not 1931. That was when it was formally accepted by the International Animal Congress. 1929 was the first time on October 4th
