Where do scorpions live?

Scorpions are predatory arachnids of the order Scorpiones. They have eight legs and are easily recognized by the pair of grasping pedipalps and the narrow, segmented tail, often carried in a characteristic forward curve over the back, ending with a venomous stinger. The greatest diversity of scorpions in the Northern Hemisphere is to be found in regions between the latitudes 23 and 38°N.

The word "scorpion" is thought to have originated in Middle English between 1175 and 1225 AD from Old French "scorpion", or from Italian "scorpione", both derived from the Latin "scorpius", which is the romanization of the Greek word "σκορπίος" – skorpíos.

This is not a good question as scorpions live in diversified environments one of the most poisonous is the Pacific northwest scorpions it's about an inch long and lives in Pacific northwest USA and Canada

I live on 38.8 S on the southern edge of Australia. I have small black scorpions in my back yard . It gets pretty cold down here a lot of the time. They don't just live in hot areas.

Val, I don't agree with your comment. I've never seen a scorpion in any of the UK deserts. Maybe a few come in with cargo. Scorpions thrive in hot dry places. Ok there is one invader species, but really an outlier in the big picture.

Scorpions prefer areas where the temperatures range from 20 to 37 °C (68 to 99 °F), but may survive temperatures ranging from well below freezing to desert. There are many different genus of scorpions with some living in high altitudes.

When I got stung by one in Kabul, I went straight to Google to find out what to do. The first site I found was "Scorpions - how to keep them as pets." The answer to my real question, in a nutshell was, get used to the pain - it'll pass in a few days. The worst is that although it is excruciating, there are no visible signs - no marks, no redness or swelling, so it is very difficult to elicit sympathy from your mates
