Where is Paddington Bear originally from?
Paddington Bear is a fictional character in children's literature. He first appeared on 13 October 1958 and has featured in more than twenty books written by Michael Bond and illustrated by Peggy Fortnum and other artists. The friendly bear from deepest, darkest Peru—with his old hat, battered suitcase (complete with a secret compartment, enabling it to hold more items than it would at first appear), duffle coat and love of marmalade—has become a classic character from English children's literature. Paddington books have been translated into 30 languages across 70 titles and sold more than 30 million copies worldwide.

I should have added that now I no longer fly I still have PB and he'll ultimately pass to my grandchildren. Some of us never really grow up and I'm 77!!

I had a small Paddington Bear attached to one of the zips on my carry-on so that if it had to go into an aircraft's hold I would instantly recognise it on the carousel. It must be 30 or so years that PB has been there and he's never let me down!!!!

Marcella Kosse you don't need grandchildren to read to, Paddington is very readable for anyone with an imagination. Might try to find one for myself, my children still have theirs, I think..!!
