Where was the Battle of Bunker Hill?
On June 17, 1775, early in the Revolutionary War (1775-83), the British defeated the Americans at the Battle of Bunker Hill in Massachusetts. Despite their loss, the inexperienced colonial forces inflicted significant casualties against the enemy, and the battle provided them with an important confidence boost. Although commonly referred to as the Battle of Bunker Hill, most of the fighting occurred on nearby Breed's Hill.

It was a pyrrhic victory for the Redcoats, because despite taking the Hill, they'd lost half of their men, while the news across the colonies spurred thousands to join the Patriot cause. The Continental Army finally ran the British from Boston in March 1776.

Got it right. I was born in Boston and have climbed all 294 steps to the top of the Bunker Hill Monument. Which is actually in Charlestown, Mass.

I have a friend who's family were owners of Breed's Hill. His name was M. Breed.

As an interesting fact- more Americans fought on the British side than the American side. It was not a Revolution- just fat cats not wanting to pay taxes. Nothing has changed.
