Where was Green Acres located?
Petticoat Junction (1963-1970) and Green Acres (1965-1971) are two rural-oriented sitcoms, the events of which take place in Hooterville, a fictional farming community. Actually, all the descriptions of the place provided in both show contain many mistakes and are quite contradictory. Many details have been changed by the writers of the two TV shows at will for the purpose of cracking a joke. In general, Hooterville is described as "a place simultaneously Southern and Midwestern, but in a vague sort of way."

Hooterville is near the Ozarks,because Granny from the Beverly Hillbillies went there to take care of Betty Jo Bradleys baby on Petticoat Junction.

According to google the answer is Eldon: "Hooterville was based on the Mid-Missouri town of Eldon, Missouri, where Paul Henning's wife Ruth grew up, although the exact location in the show was never stated. In numerous episodes, it was said that they were close to Chicago; in one Green Acres episode, Mr. Haney said Chicago was 300 miles (480 km) away"

Some of the funniest things I've ever seen came from those shows. That, along with the Beverly Hillbillies, and the Carol Burnett Show, got me laughing so very much.
