Where was the world's first industrial scale nuclear power plant constructed?
Oak Ridge and Arco were experimental sites; Obninsk was designed to produce electricity on a grid, but only on a small scale and was not commercial. The world's first full-scale power station, Calder Hall in Cumbria, opened on October 17, 1956.
