The successful baseball player who took part in a record 13 Major League Baseball World Series wins was Yogi Berra. Over parts of 18 seasons with the Yankees, Berra won 10 World Series rings. This is more than any other baseball player in history. He won three more championships as a coach and made an astonishing 21 total World Series appearances as a player, coach, or manager.

Born Lawrence Peter "Yogi" Berra (May 1925 – September 2015), Berra was an American professional baseball catcher. He later took on the roles of manager and coach. He played 19 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) (1946–1963, 1965), all but the last for the New York Yankees.

Berra had a professional baseball career batting average of .285 while hitting 358 home runs and 1,430 runs batted in. He is one of only five players to win the American League Most Valuable Player Award three times. He is now widely regarded as one of the greatest catchers in baseball history. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1972.

Berra died in his sleep at the age of 90 of natural causes in West Caldwell, New Jersey. It was 69 years to the day after his MLB debut.
