'Outnumbered' is a BBC sitcom about the Brockman family, starring Hugh Dennis as the father and Claire Skinner as the mother. A total of five series were aired on BBC One from 2007 to 2014 and was written, directed and produced by Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkins.

The Brockman family consisted of two adults and three children, Jake, Ben and Karen. The majority of the children's lines were unscripted. Whilst adult actors were given a script, the children received last-minute instructions about the scenes just before filming.

Set in Chiswick, the series focuses on the home lives of the Brockmans, where the two parents are "outnumbered" by their unruly children. Teenager Jake is full of sarcasm and starting to become obsessed with girls. The middle child, Ben, always causes trouble with his pathological lies and hyperactivity, and the youngest, Karen, asks her parents far to many questions about everything she sees and hears.

When the first series was filmed, the children, played by Tyger Drew-Honey, Daniel Roche and Ramona Marquez, were 11, 7 and 5 respectively. When the series ended, they were 17, 13 and 11. In a final Christmas special in 2016, they were 20, 16 and 14.

The first episode received 4.1 million views, and won the Royal Television Society Award and two Broadcasting Press Guild Awards in 2009. As the children got older, the show became more scripted, and as a result, less humorous. The final episode received 2.8 million views.
