Which city is known as "The Live Music Capital of the World"?
The city of Austin presents a great number of different performers. The only "if" for the participants of the great musical festival is that they should present their music live. In the twilight, this town goes jazz and rock.
The festivals of Austin are also quite helpful for junior musicians who have just started their career. The city gives them a good opportunity to show themselves and to make an important conclusion: whether it is reasonable to go on developing in this sphere or maybe it is high time to try their fortune in another field or music genre.

Yep... Austin's (Texas state capital since 1839) official state motto is "The Live Music Capital of the World"... so maybe their spell checker isn't working either? However, Texas' Capitol is in Austin. US Capitol is used for the Wash. DC building or the Capitol building of each individual state; capital references the capital city of each state. In short: Capitol (capitalized) is a building, 'capital' is a city, unless we're talking about money--but that's a whole other conversation.

As someone else has already pointed out, my home city, Melbourne Australia has the most live venues per head in the world.

This question is really open to debate - The Melbourne Live Music Census found the Victorian capital, long voted the world's most liveable city, had more live music venues per capita than any other city in the world.
