Even though the evergreen tree has traditionally been used to celebrate winter pagan festivals for thousands of years, nobody knows when it was first used as a Christmas Tree.

However, legends tell us that the first person to bring a Christmas Tree into a house was the 16th century preacher Martin Luther. Once he saw stars shining though the fir-tree branches and this starlight reminded him of God. So he brought the tree home to decorate it and to make it just as beautiful and shining as in his vision.
