"Reservoir Dogs" is a 1992 film which has six men trying to find a turncoat among them after a diamond heist has gone wrong. The six criminals in this case have pseudonyms, and they are strangers to one another. They were hired to carry out the robbery. The heist is ambushed by police and the gang are forced to shoot their way out. At their warehouse rendezvous, the survivors, realizing that they were set up, try to find the unknown traitor in their midst.

"Reservoir Dogs" was written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. It is his feature length film debut. Lawrence Bender produced the film. It stars Harvey Keitel as Mr. White/Larry Dimmick, Tim Roth as Mr. Orange/Freddy Newandyke, Chris Penn as "Nice Guy" Eddie Cabot, Steve Buscemi as Mr. Pink, Lawrence Tierney as Joe Cabot, Michael Madsen as Mr. Blonde/Vic Vega, Tarantino as Mr. Brown, and Edward Bunker as Mr. Blue. These guys are thieves whose planned heist of a jewelry store goes terribly wrong. The film depicts the events before and after the heist. Kirk Baltz as Marvin Nash, Randy Brooks as Holdaway, and Steven Wright as K-Billy DJ (voice) also have supporting roles. This is also a film which incorporates many motifs concerning violent crime, pop culture references, and profanity.

Repeatedly, Quentin Tarantino has enjoyed telling the public that he decided to reinvent the heist movie as his feature movie debut. Many critics now feel he succeeded; all or most of his desired aims and/or overall goals were achieved.
