Which hero of the Battle of Saratoga is commemorated by the Boot Monument without naming the honoree?

The Boot Monument is an American Revolutionary War memorial located in Saratoga National Historical Park, New York. It commemorates Major General Benedict Arnold's service at the Battles of Saratoga in the Continental Army, but does not name him.

Arnold was wounded in the foot during the Battle of Quebec, and suffered further injury in the Battle of Ridgefield when his horse was shot out from under him. His last battle injury was at Saratoga, and it occurred near where this monument is located.

He later betrayed America and tried to hand over the fortification plans of what is now the West Point to the British.

The Battles of Saratoga (September 19 and October 7, 1777) marked the climax of the Saratoga campaign, giving a decisive victory to the Americans over the British in the American Revolutionary War. The American victory in the Battles of Saratoga helped persuade the French to recognize American independence and to openly provide military assistance.
