I am age 54, when I was in grade school in the 1960's my mom bought me a pencil case. It had a US map on the cover, It also had rotating wheels that interlocked, on the left would be the state on the right you'd get the capital of the state. I think I was maybe 7 or 8, within a few months I asked mom to quiz me and I could name all 50 correctly. Then she said if you can do this why can't you get straight A's in all your classes? The only other thing I was really great at was spelling, I won my 5th grade spelling bee, in a large city Miami.

History was my favorite subject in school !!! I got an 88 on the regents !!!! My last two years of high school, I had a notebook specifically for History class !!! Everyday I entered word by word what the History teacher was teaching !! Yes, EVERYDAY !!!! The regents exam was at the end of my 12th year !!! Well, a classmate ( Mike Denmark ) asked to borrow my History notebook, I was hesitant at first, but I handed over my notebook which was full of History knowledge !! A week later I asked Mike for the notebook back !!! My heart sank when he stated that he lost it !!!! Folks, it's been almost 50 years (2016)), it still weighs heavy on my mind how Mike Denmark was so inconsiderate !!! He was very handsome, but I noticed him on Facebook (50 yrs.later) ----- UGH !!!!!! Not aging gracefully !!!
