Bishop's Stortford is a historic market town and civil parish in the district of East Hertfordshire in the county of Hertfordshire in England. It is just west of the M11 motorway on the county boundary with Essex, and is the closest town to London Stansted Airport in the London commuter belt. Bishop's Stortford is 27 miles (43 km) north east of Charing Cross in central London and 35 miles (56 km) from Liverpool Street station, the London terminus of the line to Cambridge that runs through the town. Bishop's Stortford has a population of 38,202.

To all the people on here saying that it is Harlow, you are wrong. I live in Harlow and I am 12 miles from the airport. It is most definately Bishops Stortford..

Barbara Ell, Do you wish to purchase me a ticket, I would be happy to come visit you? Seriously travel for us in the USA is not as easy as it is for you Europeans travelling from one state to another here, can be the same as travelling through 3 or 4 different countries there. I envy your flexibility of movement. Sadly I waited to do my International travel for when I retired, however life happened and I was never able to make it across the pond. I am certain there are an equal number of you that have not traveled here. We are all the poorer for it.
