‘A View to a Kill’ is a 1985 spy film and the 14th in the James Bond spy series that includes a scene in Paris, France at the Eiffel Tower. In this film, Roger Moore stars as James Bond pitted against Max Zorin, who plans to destroy California’s Silicon Valley, located in the State of California in the United States.

The budget for the film in 1985 was $30 million and box office receipts were $152.4 million. Due to inflation, in 2019 the budget would have been $74.3 million and box office receipts would be valued at $377.3 million.

Part of the film’s plot includes Bond visiting Ascot Racecourse to observe the company’s owner Max Zorin. After the visit, a partnership between Bond and a French private detective named Achille Aubergine develops. The detective informs Bond that Zorin is holding a horse sale later in the month. During their dinner in the Jules Verne Restaurant located at the Eiffel Tower, Aubergine is assassinated by Zorin’s bodyguard named May Day. She subsequently escapes after being chased by Bond.

The cast included Christopher Walken as Max Zorin, a psychopathic industrialist, the product of a Nazi genetic experiment who is planning to destroy Silicon Valley to gain a monopoly over the microchip market. Grace Jones played May Day, Zorin’s lover and chief henchwoman. She is an assassin who possesses superhuman strength in the film. Jean Rougerie played the French private detective Achille Aubergine.
