earlepg, Nope. They lost in 1974 to NC State, in the semis I believe. Without looking it up, I'm pretty sure the titles were won in 1964, 1965, 1967-1973, and 1975. UTEP (aka Texas Western) won over Kentucky in 1966.

John Wooden coached UCLA basketball for 27 years, 1948 to 1975, with a record of 620-147. UCLA (and Wooden) had 10 NCAA championships from 1964 to 1975, with 8 of them consecutive from 1967 to 1975. UCLA added an 11th championship in 1995. Lou Alcindor (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) was on the team for 3 years, from 1967 to 1969.
