Iceland is a Nordic island country in the North Atlantic Ocean and the most sparsely populated country in Europe. Iceland's capital and largest city is Reykjavík.

Iceland is heavily integrated into the European Union via the Agreement on the European Economic Area and the Schengen Agreement, despite its status as a non-EU member state. Iceland applied for membership in 2009 but the application was controversial and the Icelandic government withdrew it in 2015.

ukmcfry, My Brit pen-pal since 1964 voted for Brexit, but I really don't see why they'd want to isolate themselves from Europe even more than they already are geographically.

I knew the flags of all the countries except Austria, so that's what I went with. If I'd thought 5 seconds more, it would have dawned on me that we're shown the flag of Europe.

Ron Harvey, assuming the 'obviously not" is Iceland, while geologically it includes parts of both the North American and European continental shelfs, and its nearest neighbour is Greenland, it is nearer to mainland Europe than to mainland North America. Iceland is closely connected to Europe in a historical, political, sporting and cultural sense. Although Iceland is not a member of the European Union, its relation to the EU is mainly based on the EEA Agreement, which came into effect in 1994. The member states of the EU are Iceland’s most important economic partners and the majority of Icelanders working and studying abroad, do so in Europe. The Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA Agreement) is therefore a vital part of Iceland’s foreign policy. Iceland is a member of the European Free Trade Area.

fdeisner, Unfortunately this was just a one-off. I have had many many more lilly questions that were totally juvenile copy ridiculous copy and asinine. I have registered dislike on the question "What are your thoughts on this subject?" and it stilled showed zero. This happend to me on several Lily questions. I reported technical error but so far have not had any reply.
