Char, Greeks and Romans did not impose their religion on the people they conquered. They established their temples and other places of worship; Romans, especially, incorporated into their beliefs some Goddesses and Gods of conquered lands.

Jeanette Cohen, Islam spread through conquest, but never forced conversion under threat of death. That was Christianity. Some extremist of these times still call for "death to the infidel" but, apart from isolated instances, have you seen Muslims killing people the way Arabs are killed in Israel?

Jeanette Cohen, yes and Christians did that around the world too. All big religions did that around the globe they took over another country and forced their religion upon them of death . Not sure if Greece kept doing it in the Hellinic religion or not..

jonbroberts, I have friends who disagree seems you see what you want to see..all religions including the Christian Bible have the violence and the opinion anyone not Christian is an infidel and going straight to hello. I had a freind try to convert me for that reason..we both love and care about each other just disagree on religion.
